The Act
by on January 10, 2000 in Poetry

Don’t look at me like that
I can’t keep holding
Onto your stare
It’s getting harder to hide
To not show
I was with you
When everyone’s there
The tension is growing
You keep ordering drinks
The people around us
Are props
Now we’re center stage
In the same fucked up play
The chemistry’s real
And we’re hot
Lets get out of this place
Take off my clothes
Hold my hands up
So I can’t fight back
I don’t want to know
How you feel about me
I just want to get lost
In the act
