Just A Man
by on August 28, 2004 in Poetry

I’m tired of making excuses
And trying to understand
What motivates you
To behave how you do
You’re not complicated
You’re just a man
Who doesn’t know what he wants
Besides not wanting me
Enough to stay and fight
Enough not to leave
A man who doesn’t have the strength
To communicate how he feels
Instead you let me guess
Convincing myself that
What we had was real
A man who doesn’t correct me
When it’s clear that I’ve been
Led astray
Instead you let me carry on
Pulling you closer
While you pushed me away
