My Kind Of Guy
by on January 15, 2014 in Poetry

Are you someone
with big dreams and ambitions,
a constant rub
to create something new?
To continue reinventing
each day of your life,
and be part of something
that’s much bigger than you?

Do you seek out opportunities
to learn and to grow?
Does complacency in others
kind of freak you out?
Is your mind always chewing
on different ideas
that you love to discuss
when you’re out and about?

Do you sometimes feel like
there’s just not enough time?
Do you not really “get”
procrastination?
Or people who spend
weekend days on the couch
complaining, but not really
taking much action —
avoiding discovering their passion?

Are you someone who likes
to explore the unknown,
but with a strong compass
guiding which way you go?
Do you avoid comparison
to other people and instead
tune-in to your soul?

Do you believe in abundance,
and that there’s enough
joy in this world
for everyone?
Do you see possibilities
for potential success,
and enjoy encouraging
others along?

Do you take time to pause
And express gratitude,
appreciation for all the little things?
Do you know how to be present
and give your attention,
not checking your cell phone
obsessively?

Are you someone who wants
a lover and friend,
and not just a girl
who’s along for your ride?
A woman that others
would describe as strong,
but feels so vulnerable inside?

If so,
then you’re my kind of guy.
